A Local's Guide to the Best of Downtown New York City

We recently opened our flagship store on the iconic Crosby Street in SoHo, New York City!

To celebrate, we’ve curated a guide featuring some of our favorite spots around town. From hidden gems to iconic landmarks, these destinations perfectly capture the energy and essence of New York City.

What to See

West Side Highway & Little Island

Walk along the West Side Highway one morning during your visit, and make sure to stop in Little Island to get a nice view of the Hudson.

The Whitney
99 Gansevoort Street

Located in the Meatpacking District, the Whitney presents the full range of 20th century and contemporary American art.

The High Line & Chelsea Market

The High Line is a 1.45-mile-long elevated linear park created on a former New York Central Railroad spur on the west side of Manhattan. Start in Meatpacking, make a quick pit stop at Chelsea Market and visit Los Tacos No.1 for a quick lunch and before you know it you’ll be in Hudson Yards.

Where to Shop

Commodity
113 Crosby Street

Our flagship store is the only place to fully immerse yourself in the Commodity brand and experience Scent Space like never before. Here you'll also get to exclusively experience our new Editions and candle collections.

Axel Arigato
273 Lafayette Street

A collection of elevated classics centered around footwear and expanded to attire, outerwear and accessories. Bonus: the store looks like a MoMA exhibit.

For the outdoor enthusiasts, shop the apparel brand before a walk through Central Park or a hike just outside the city.

Where to Stay

Four Seasons

By day, you’re only steps away from the city’s most authentic neighborhoods. By night, rejuvenate at the hotel’s spa or over cocktails at the celebrity chef steakhouse.

The Standard Hotel
Multiple locations

With locations in the Meatpacking District and East Village, the hotels are always buzzing with activity. The current event lineup includes Hedge & Hearth, a 2,000-square-foot hedge labyrinth that transports you across The Pond, Tarot & Tea 'Tinis, and weekly Not Your Standard Bingo.

The Crosby Street Hotel
79 Crosby Street

Lined with art in common areas and guest rooms, the pieces were curated to look cozy and at home at the Crosby, versus like an art gallery where you observe and then exit.
